Eta Alpha Sigma Graduate Chapter is the Alumnae Chapter for the Sacramento, Davis, and Chico Areas, and we are in the Capitol City of Sacramento, California. We are a non-profit community service organization. Seven of the graduate members chartered the chapter on September 28, 1988. The chapter was later reactivated in 2000.
We are also the Advisory Chapter for Xi Epsilon at Sacramento State University and the Kappa Phi Chapter at the University of California at Davis
Eta Alpha Sigma Alumnae chapter is a part of the Western Region of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. For more information on the Western Region, please click below.
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was organized on November 12, 1922, in Indianapolis, Indiana, by seven young educators: Mary Lou Allison Gardner Little, Dorothy Hanley Whiteside, Vivian Irene White Marbury, Nannie Mae Gahn Johnson, Hattie Mae Annette Dulin Redford, Bessie Mae Downey Rhoades Martin, and Cubena McClure.
The group became an incorporated national collegiate sorority on December 30, 1929, when a charter was granted to the Alpha chapter at Butler University.
