Eta Alpha Sigma
Eta Alpha Sigma is the graduate (alumnae) chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated, serving the Sacramento, Davis, and Chico areas from our home in California's capital city. As a non-profit community service organization, we're committed to making a lasting difference where we live.
Our chapter was chartered on September 28, 1988 by seven dedicated graduate members, and reactivated in 2000 to carry that legacy forward.
We're also proud to serve as the Advisory Chapter for two undergraduate chapters: Xi Epsilon at Sacramento State University and Kappa Phi at the University of California, Davis — mentoring the next generation of Sigma women.

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was organized on November 12, 1922, in Indianapolis, Indiana, by seven young educators: Mary Lou Allison Gardner Little, Dorothy Hanley Whiteside, Vivian Irene White Marbury, Nannie Mae Gahn Johnson, Hattie Mae Annette Dulin Redford, Bessie Mae Downey Rhoades Martin, and Cubena McClure.
The group became an incorporated national collegiate sorority on December 30, 1929, when a charter was granted to the Alpha chapter at Butler University.

MISSION:
Eta Alpha Sigma Sacramento Alumnae Chapter addresses the needs of the community. We provide an environment for the community, and our sisterhood encourages teamwork, personal and professional growth, and engages them in a passion for education. By direct contributions and individual participation, the quality of life in the community is improved.
